Naturally, many other nations asked and even begged for this information to be shared. Rather than granting these requests, the Atlantians reacted by closing their society to all outsiders. Anyone foolish enough to persevere was dealt with swiftly and harshly, by sheer force. In time, however, the entire supply of the four crystals required to formulate the substance were exhausted. Destructive campaigns were quickly mounted to conquer the rest of the world in the desperate hope of finding more.

What's more, it's poisoning the gameworld, which combines elements from our real one and mythology. Taking the trip through Atlantica Online is like no other journey you're likely to embark upon in the massively multiplayer category. You won't find yourself in an entirely fictional world like you would in the vast majority of other releases. Instead, the destinations you'll visit and explore are, in a pretty literal sense, the stuff of legends.

One particularly fun and interesting element - even if it's being based on world history may initially seem less than instantly inspiring - is the game's backdrop. It's our Earth at different moments in time. As the players make their way around the globe to uncover the clues that will ultimately lead them to Atlantis, they will travel to our virtual adaptations of such famed real locations as the Taj Mahal in India and the pyramids of Egypt.
We thought the best way to take advantage of these magnificent wonders of the world would be to make them into dungeons that must be explored within our various quests. In designing these locations, we also wanted to draw upon the legends and folklore surrounding them to create the monsters and bosses that players must battle. For example, those looking to find clues in the pyramid must get past Khufu, the cruel and ruthless Egyptian pharaoh who is believed to have had the famous one in Giza built, and to have been buried there along with many others he had killed to keep him company in the afterlife. Fittingly, in Atlantica, there are also his mummy minions you must defeat.
In addition to real places, there are also others that might not actually have existed, but live on in mythology, like the Cretan labyrinth. According to Greek myth, the great architect Daedalus and his son Icarus constructed an elaborate maze of passageways under the orders of Crete's King Minos to hold the minotaur, the half-man, half-bull creature born of his wife. As you may have suspected, we made it the boss within this location.
The majority of the dungeons in Atlantica are derived from actual locations and myths like these, but some have come from the imaginations of our developers. As players try to move forward on their trek to Atlantis, it will be like they are taking on thousands of years of human civilization to get there. We think this adds to the thrill of playing because you can explore some of the legends, myths and folklore that are very important to the people from various world societies.
As well as delving into the cultures of these locales, players can gain even more benefits by going through these dungeons. In many of them, there are opportunities to find higher tiers of items that are not available anywhere outside. For example, the powerful Black Knight gear, found only in Bran Castle, is better than the standard level equipment that characters can collect throughout the game. There are also optional side quests that can be undertaken to obtain even further rewards.
As they go up in levels, players will find many shadow dungeons, which are different versions of existing ones, but geared for group play, with even more challenging monsters and bosses. While these are considerably harder than their standard equivalents, tackling them offers the chance to receive far better drops and loot. Quite often, the reasons for going into these tougher versions involve quests to obtain new mercenaries such as the Beast Master or Witch.
The way this element of Atlantica has been designed also help to further distinguish this game from other MMOGs that use the micro-transaction model. They're quite often criticized for the excessive amount of grinding that players have to undertake to level up and obtain items, which generally leads to repetitive gameplay. New for 2019 is the Kia Stinger GT Atlantica. It builds on the already loaded GT2 all-wheel-drive model, which not only adds in typical special-edition hallmarks like unique paint, wheels and badging, but also some new cabin tech, as well.
Just 500 Stinger GT Atlanticas will be sold in the US, and the name 'celebrates the cross-Atlantic collaboration between the US and the vehicle's Germany-based development roots.'
The new Stinger GT Atlantica is slathered in Deep Chroma Blue metallic paint, and it borrows its 19-inch alloy wheels from the European-market car, as well as larger rear Stinger badging from its Korean market counterpart and unique Atlantica fender badging.
Inside, Atlantica shoppers will find a unique Espresso Brown Nappa leather cockpit, along with a black faux-suede headliner.
More interestingly, the Atlantica will feature a 360-degree surround-view camera, wireless phone charger and heated rear seats — three features we'd been waiting to see since we gave the Stinger our Roadshow Shift Award for Vehicle of the Year in January.
No word yet on how much the Atlantica special edition will cost, but the vehicle goes on sale this summer.
