Skyrim Crashes When Fast Traveling
I have over 120 Hours in Skyrim on PC. I've completed the civil war (stormcloak) and the main quest. I'm now trying to complete the Dark Brotherhood, but anytime I go anywhere near Soltidue to do 'Bound Until Death', by walking from a nearby location or fast-travel, the game crashes with a 'Skyrim has encountered a problem' in front of a black screen, not a normal crash to desktop that many get randomly. This affects not just Solitude but most of the areas immediately around it. I've tried console coc and cow commands to get there and they all crash the game one way or another. I can go pretty much everywhere else without a problem, but I recently had the same problem with the Wreck of the Winter War. My assumption is more and more regions will get bugged as time goes on.
This bug seems to be associated with large saves/long playthroughs. See similar problems here and here.
So, my computer broke. I re-installed Skyrim, started the game and it crashed. Followed some instructions in the troubleshooting area of Steam, started the game again, and it worked. Until I tried to fast travel. Then it crashed again. I have done this 5 times, and it keeps crashing when I fast. This is my long-ago-created mod of a bunch of SAM followers in a castle. This used to be on Nexusmods until recently I was aware of that its not supposed to (thank u @Darnexx), so I hided the file and re-uploaded it here, hoping someone could have some fun with it. The follower race playable bu.
Does anyone know of any workarounds?

As this is only affecting certain locations, it's likely that something is corrupt (an NPC, container, door, the list goes on.). This can happen due to a mod, or just by nature (code can be random at times).
Because you saved your game with this error, every time you load your game you are loading the corrupted object again. and crashing again. I would recommend agent86's suggestion of waiting for cells to respawn. There may also be commands to force a cell to 'clean' itself. If this doesn't work, then a mod is probably consistently re-creating the error and you should walk through your modlist and test each one.
Skyrim Crashing When Fast Traveling
Btw, the threads you cited really didn't have anything to do with long playthrough/bloated files. I think it's incorrect to assume that's part of the problem.

I can't enter the bannered mare in whiterun, because it makes me CTD. I have found a lot of people with the same issue as me. As far as I know, nobody has found a fix, yet. Any suggestions?
Loading editorHello, I occasionally find this topic through online search and although it is old (but not achieved topic), I just solved such problem after really hard trying for days. There are many players experiencing the same but I suppose even until now, few come out with the desired solutions. Mine is also entering bannered mare (guaranteed) crash as well as the Whiterun main gate crash (which I never had in my previous games years ago when the legendary edition did not yet come out). Sometimes black and purple textures randomly appear just around Whiterun and the game crashes after few minutes play. Sometimes, the fast travel to any major cities can cause CTDs, too.
Then I realize it is somehow the Skyrim's limitation but such problems never occurred before when there were no SSME patches. I mean, I already have SSME/SKSE patch now but the problem persists, or even worse (like the loading screen often turned into crashes even with Saftey Load which does not happen without them). Such cases persist specially on Whiterun, the central city of Skyrim. I also experience significant stuttering on some particular points in Whiterun Wind District during the daytime which also were not there in my previous games).
So here is the solutions for me and I hope it can help for others somehow:
First, the stuttering issue in Whiterun (also in Markarth city but less significant) was solved by deleting and replacing some actor/armor mesh systems, such as HDT Physics I have been using since I obtained the Legendary Edition.
Second, I found the mod: crash fixes (https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2551-crash-fixes/), is much more capable in allocating skyrim memory as it has ensured me not crash on the any main gate and much less random missing textures around Whiterun. Use its ‘OSAllocator’ really stabilized my game further. However, this does not remove the Bannered-mare crash.
Mass effect 2 no cd. Third, the real cause of the crash I found is the official HD texture DLCs loaded by Skyrim.ini causes my Skyrim crash on entering/exiting Bannered-mare. Skipping these DLCs or using their .esp or other HD texture mods instead has finally made my game running smoothly and stably with Bannered-mare.
Hence, please try to identify if there are potentially ‘expanded’ actor mesh systems, use sensible Skyrim memory patches, and get rid of loading DLC textures from the INI files other than .esp and see if Bannered-mare fixed. Not messing up with Skyrim.ini though.
I understand Skyrim is very fragile and many cases can call to a same problem. But this is my case, the texture and mesh issues which I never thought to be the problem before, especially the texture. I think it is because I altered the “sResourceArchiveList=” in Skyrim.ini by following some texture DLCs better installation guides but they are NOT better. See if this can help you with some sensible directions and I hope the players can be helped always.
Regards,
