War Thunder Tiger 2 105
German light field howitzer 105 mm leFH 18 105mm leFH 18 Type: light field howitzer History: The German army had chosen the calibre of 105 mm (4,134 inch) for its standard field howitzers well before World War One, and then stuck with it.
This Pack includes: Helicopter BO 105 CB-2 (Rank 5 Germany); Premium account for 15 days; 2000 Golden Eagles. Developed in the late 60s, BO 105 multipurpose helicopters were used for civilian and military needs in many countries. This light helicopter with two turboshaft engines and a four-bladed main rotor stands out due to its high reliability: all the vehicle’s main systems are duplicated. The average speed is around 240 km/h, but the helicopter itself is exceptionally maneuverable. Its two-engine design gives it a chance to find a landing zone even when one of its engines is damaged. An experimental CB-2 version was developed in the 80s and differs from researchable versions with eight American TOW ATGMs. All premium vehicles allow you to earn increased Research Points and Silver Lions for each battle and comes furnished with all available modifications. With a Premium account (also purchasable in the game for Golden Eagles) you will earn more Research Points and Silver Lions during each battle for a set amount of days. This is cumulative with bonuses from premium vehicles!
War Thunder King Tiger
Honestly, what is the point of this tank?
It has no better armor than the Tiger 2, and it's 105mm gun has no better penetration than the 2P or 2H. It's incredible to me that this massive cannon, a full 17 mm bigger than the 88' is not more effective than it's predecessor.
War Thunder Removing Tiger 2 105
The gun aside, the armor has no improvement either, and while I think the engine performs better, it really doesn't make a difference in the end.
I'm posting because I'm frustrated after having spend so long grinding out for this 320,000 RP tank that I get something which is basically just a Tiger 2H.
Not only that, I also get the bonus of exclusively fighting IS4M's and T-54's. One of which is impervious to my gun and the second of which has a much faster reloading time and considering I'm basically in a Tiger 2 with a gun that takes longer to reload , has no trouble knocking me out.
I would just like to know why this tank sits at Tier V and what supposed improvements they Developers think it has besides a more useless gun (Longer reload time + no more effective = worse than 88) and a slightly better engine. I want to like this tank, but I can't find any reason to. So why is it the way it is? Is there a historical reason? Did the 105 really have no better penetration over range? Can someone explain?
